Then and Now: 1776 and 2026

This month, explore an evening of performances and presentations exploring the continuities and changes in American history from 1776 to 2026, with an emphasis on the military contributions of the Buffalo soldiers.

This program is hosted by the Buffalo Soldiers Museum and Luther Adams – Free Man of Color, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Ethnic, Gender, and Labor Studies at the University of Washington Tacoma.

Join us for the “We the People Lecture Series” every Third Thursday, with free admission to the Washington State History Museum. Explore what it means to be a Washingtonian and connect with our nation’s founding values. Each event offers fresh perspectives on Washington’s story, featuring talks, demonstrations, trivia, and performances in partnership with local cultural groups and organizations.
