‘I Smell a Rat!’ Open House at Knappton Cove

Join us on Memorial Day as we celebrate Historic Preservation Month and Pacific County’s Museum Month. There will be brief program at 2 pm: Smallpox Threatens the Nation! 2026 brings us to our country’s 250^th anniversary of the signing of The Declaration of Independence. Although Washington and Oregon weren’t states until well into the 1800’s, smallpox was here and even played a part in the Revolutionary War. Come hear stories of that dreaded disease including here at this Port of Entry. Get your Museum Month passport stamped AND a limited edition enamel pin (a rat, of course!) while supplies last. Look out for our special visitor, ‘A Rodent of Unusual Size’! This is an event you won’t want to miss.
