Railroad telegraphers station
This is a rare, intact, and functioning example of a railroad telegraphers station inside the former Northern Pacific Railway depot. The telegrapher was responsible for handling railroad communications, and both sending and receiving Western Union telegrams.
How it represents the community’s American experience:
The telegraphers station at the railroad depot was the center of communication in early Ritzville. It was a vital hub where telegrams were sent, and received, connecting Ritzville and its citizens to the outside world.
On display at the Ritzville Depot Museum, Thursday–Saturday, 12–4 p.m. June–August 2026; or by appointment.
