Meet iconic figures like George Washington and John Hancock\, explore daily life from 250 years ago\, and experience the sights and sounds of the past in an engaging and memorable way. \nOur America Celebrates 250 Years\nDate: Saturday\, June 13\, 2026\nTime: 9:30 am – 5:00 pm\nLocation: Franklin Park – 2101 Tieton Drive\, Yakima\, WA \nActivities include: \n\nParade through the park at 9:30 am\nPeriod dressed people including George Washington\, Yakama Nation Members\, John Hancock\, and many everyday figures\nDemonstrations of musket drills\, dancing\, beading and basket making\, candle making\, spinning and lace making\nEducational talks include what was life like 250 years ago\, our politicians thoughts on government formation\, our native history\, women and their roles and history of our flags\nDrop off location for worn\, torn flags needing proper retirement\nPhoto opportunities with the George Washington and the John Hancock characters\nDisplays of items used in everyday life\nEncampments of Soldiers and Yakama Nation Members\n\nAnd so much more….
